EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a psychotherapeutic alternative medicine tool based on the theory that negative emotions are caused by disturbances in the body’s energy field. The basic EFT technique involves tapping specific points on the body that correspond to meridians used in Chinese medicine. Simply stated, it is an emotional version of acupuncture except needles aren't necessary. The client is taught to tap, touch, press or rub on pressure points. Once taught this procedure can be continued at home by the client.

EFT combines well with other healing modalities including hypnotherapy. It can
help relieve any psychological and physical conditions including

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • post-traumatic Stress Disorder
  • general stress
  • addictions and phobias

EFT is not a cure all but it usually works well and the results are sometimes spectacular. It can often work where all else seems to have failed.
You will find that EFT is usually quite gentle and you can often achieve substantial relief with little or no pain. This is not true for everyone, however. Some people's issues are so intense that the mere mention of them causes emotional or physical pain. But, given time, even these are often resolved efficiently with EFT.

Reiki is also offered as an alternative treatment
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." While we are healthy and strong, there is a powerful flow of energy running through our body. When we are feeling stressed or unwell, this flow of energy is reduced. Reiki is a simple and effective way of promoting the bodies natural healing by rebalancing the flow of ki.
